Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in biological science, biomedical sciences, bioinformatics or related disciplines. They should be self-driven, highly motivated, creative with excellent communication skills in written and spoken English and Cantonese. Expertise and knowledge in bioinformatics, deep learning and/or biomedical image and clinical data analysis (e.g. Linux, R programming) is essential. The appointees will need to perform data analysis of single cell RNA-sequencing, transcriptomics data, Nanopore long read sequencing analysis and/or multimodality deep learning model development in different sarcomas. Publications in related fields will be a strong advantage. Opportunities for publication and independent development will be available. Additional basic laboratory skills in handling clinical samples (e.g. FFPE tissue, blood), preparation of samples for scRNA-seq and DNA/RNA extractions will be desirable. LJMU supports the design of buildings and structures by quantifying potential waste and incorporating biomaterials using locally available resources, leveraging its expertise in engineering characterisation of construction materials, on-site and lab-based testing, computational modelling, and project sustainability evaluation with carbon tools. We are now looking for a Research Assistant in the School of Engineering and Built Environment. You will be self-motivated with a proven track record on engineering knowledge on building and infrastructure development needs aligned with SDGs and experienced on working in a team environment. You will be able to raise the profile and promote the activities of the project. You will assess and enhance the resilience of regional and European supply chains for zero-cement concrete production. You will optimise zero-cement concrete material compositions utilising regional resources. In addition, you will conduct thorough testing of geopolymer synthesis and bacteria-based self-healing systems and perform a variety of durability tests on concrete samples. Your Responsibility The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to research team in conducting academic research and essential support functions, including literature searches, drafting proposals, translation, conducting surveys, performing analyses and tests, and drafting manuscripts/reports. About You Candidates must have a PhD degree in a relevant engineering discipline, preferable in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Environmental Engineering.
