A unique opening has arisen to become part of the Campus Safety Team here at the University of Surrey, supporting our students, staff members and visitors. This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic member to join our crucial campus service. You will be the ‘face’ of the University, dealing with everything from a student locked out of their room to crisis & emergency management, ensuring the campus is a safe environment for everyone, offering support and advice. Working hours for this role are pre-assigned “4 on, 4 off” shift patterns to support our 24/7 service. You will be expected to work 2 days then 2 nights for each “4 on” cycle. Role & Responsibilities:  Reporting into your Campus Manager, you’ll be overseeing the safety, security and welfare of those working, studying and visiting the University.  You’ll deal with both staff and students on a day-to-day basis, so we welcome application from those who have a keen interest in creating a warm and welcoming environment for our students and understands that every shift will come with new challenges to deal with. The role is varied by nature and a level of discretion will be needed to ensure that we are always doing what is best for our community. As a member of Campus Safety Team, you will receive a comprehensive training plan to ensure that you are well equipped to deal with handling the common student and staff enquiries. About the Job We are seeking a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Counselling to contribute to teaching, research, clinical supervision, and academic leadership across our undergraduate and postgraduate counselling provision. The post holder will contribute to the academic, professional, research, and administrative activities of the Counselling Cluster within the Department of Social Work, Counselling and Social Care, and, where appropriate, across the wider School. The role includes module leadership, teaching across a range of counselling-related subjects, assessment and feedback, supervision of student research projects, and participation in admissions, recruitment, and academic administration. Teaching will be delivered primarily face-to-face at our Stratford Campus, with some online delivery as required. The role also involves providing high-quality clinical supervision and supporting students to integrate theory, research, and professional practice in line with BACP and other relevant professional standards. The post holder will be expected to engage in scholarly activity and contribute to the continued development and growth of the counselling portfolio, as well as to the wider research culture of the Department and School. About You We are looking for an enthusiastic, student-focused academic and practitioner who is passionate about counselling education, clinical practice, and widening participation in higher education. You will hold a BACP-accredited postgraduate qualification in Counselling and Psychotherapy or Counselling and Coaching and be qualified to teach at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. You will be registered with a relevant professional body (preferably BACP), ideally accredited or eligible to apply for accreditation. You will be able to demonstrate significant experience of counselling/integrative counselling and coaching practice, alongside experience of teaching and/or training in higher education or a comparable professional context. Experience of clinical supervision, research supervision, module leadership, and curriculum development is highly desirable, as is a strong commitment to scholarly activity and professional development. You will bring excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills, and a clear commitment to inclusive, ethical, and reflective practice. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to work in our small animal Spay & Neuter Clinic at The Mayhew, Trenmar Gardens, London, NW10 6BJ. The School of Veterinary Medicine aims to create a wealth of new knowledge of the animal world, taking a multi-disciplinary approach to veterinary education and research and creating the veterinary leaders of the future. This is a fantastic opportunity for a part time RVN looking to work on set days during University term times only for two days per week. You will need to be available on Tuesday and Wednesday each week (16 hours/week) during University terms (20 weeks per year).
