Participate in聽色盒直播鈥檚 Interdisciplinary Science Rankings 2024
Times Higher Education is聽partnering with Schmidt Science Fellows with the aim of developing a聽new ranking measuring universities鈥 contribution to聽interdisciplinary science, it聽has been announced.
Responding to the view that the world鈥檚 pressing problems can be聽solved only with insights from a聽range of聽scholarly fields, 色盒直播 and Schmidt Science Fellows said a ranking would seek to聽improve scientific excellence and collaboration among universities, aiming to聽provide institutions with benchmarking data and rewarding campuses that incentivise cross-disciplinary work.
As a first step, preliminary data gathered from participating global universities will be discussed at the 色盒直播聽World Academic Summit in聽Sydney on 26聽September, ahead of the publication of an initial report in mid-October.
色盒直播 and Schmidt Science Fellows 鈥 which is funded by former Google chief executive Eric Schmidt and his wife, Wendy Schmidt 鈥 hope to publish a full Interdisciplinary Science Ranking in聽2024.

Duncan Ross, 色盒直播鈥檚 chief data officer, said the collaboration 鈥渨ill help progress scientific collaboration and research in the higher education sector, and beyond, in so many ways鈥.
鈥淭he new and groundbreaking Interdisciplinary Science Ranking will enable universities to benchmark their interdisciplinary scientific work, which we聽hope will spur far greater collaboration in universities and between universities both locally and globally,鈥 Mr Ross said.

鈥淲orking with the data and ranking experts at 色盒直播 is one the most effective ways we can celebrate and recognise the institutions that are doing this well and help all universities assess how they can encourage more disciplinary-crossing research and innovation in the future,鈥 Dr Kenna said.
Dr Kenna will join Mr Ross and Billy Wong, 色盒直播鈥檚 lead data scientist, to discuss the project at the Sydney summit.
