Founded in 2014, Amity University Kolkata is the 10th campus founded by the non-profit Amity Foundation. Its campus is located in Rajarhat, an IT hub and new satellite city of Kolkata.
Amity University Kolkata combines technical education with liberal arts, offering undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in subjects ranging from advertising and PR to nanotechnology.
Alongside academic instruction, the university offers career counselling, CV-writing workshops and interview preparation. The university collaborates with international institutions, as well as with Fortune 100, Fortune 500 companies and start-ups in different industries. This enables the career service to provide considerable assistance to students looking for work placements.
The design of the large, verdant campus was inspired by the night-flowering jasmine, the state flower of West Bengal.
It houses 18 different specialist laboratories, supporting subjects such as mechanical engineering, geography and fashion technology. Classrooms are amphitheatre-style.
The campus also includes extensive sports facilities and a branded cafeteria.
