Your responsibilities The successful candidate will serve as the academic and administrative head of the School of Computer Science and Engineering. Essential qualifications include: Appointment as Full Professor or equivalent academic standing At least 10 years of experience in both teaching and research in a field relevant to the School Strong international academic reputation demonstrated through research and teaching achievements Experience in the commercialization of research and research transfer (e.g., startups, entrepreneurship, patenting) would be an advantage Proven involvement in high-level academic administration and leadership such as roles in academic governance or scientific organizations Demonstrated experience in strategic thinking and academic management Understanding of the economic and strategic context of academic and scientific activities within universities Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to foster collaboration and teamwork Experience working with highly diverse and international student bodies and their representative organizations or equivalent experience leading diverse teams Familiarity with international and German higher education systems Fluency in English (language of instruction at Constructor University); proficiency in German would be an advantage Demonstrated ability to contribute to the development and innovation of academic units and institutions, particularly in relation to digital transformation. We are recruiting a PhD student interested in completing a PhD in set theory and logic. The position is part of the research project “Interactions between set theory and non-standard logics” funded by the Academy of Finland, which is led by Dr. Ur Ya’ar. The position is for a fixed term of 1.9.2026-31.8.2030, with some flexibility regarding the starting date. There will be a trial period of six months at the beginning of the employment. Job description The selected candidate will carry out research on the interactions between set theory and non-standard logics, preferably within one of the two branches of the project: Modal Logic of Forcing Inner Models from Extended Logics These are active fields within set theory, with many possible research directions. The supervisor will help the selected candidate choose appropriate research questions and acquire the required skills. We aim to create a collaborative environment in order to promote both the research and the selected candidate’s academic development.  The position is fixed-term with the main purpose of preparing a dissertation related to the project in the Doctoral Programme in Science (SciDoc) of the University of Helsinki. The researcher will write scientific manuscripts on their results for publication in international peer-reviewed conferences and journals. The project is rooted in the Helsinki Logic Group, and we hope the researcher will be an active part of the group. The position includes funding to attend conferences and make research visits abroad. Applicants should have a solid publication record and demonstrated experience in computer vision or analysis of pathology images. The appointees will participate in a multidisciplinary collaborative research project related to development of deep learning model for diagnosis and prognosis of different sarcomas. He/she will develop and train deep learning models with state-of-the-art algorithms based on histology whole slide images. They may also contribute to research of integration of multimodality data with clinical, radiological images and genomics data.
