Grand View University聽is an聽arts college, based in Iowa, was founded in 1896 in affiliation聽with the聽Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

There are a vast majority of degrees on offer and some of the most popular subjects are: history, psychology, accounting, international studies, and philosophy.聽

The聽university has developed a number of traditions over the years, which remain to this day. Since the 1930s, Grand View students have participated in a campus tradition using Bud the Bird 鈥 a large eagle statue. Each year students find a new hiding place for the statue while others find it.聽

Grand View University offers plenty of opportunities for students to get involved with media.聽The Grand Views聽is the campus newspaper which is entirely student written and produced.聽

There are a variety of clubs and organisations available at the university, which include: Art Club, Biology Club, Education Club, History Club, Math and Computer Science Club, Nursing Student Association, and Grand View Choir.

Known as the Vikings, athletic teams at Grand View University are members of聽the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics and compete in the Heart of America Athletic Conference. Sports include: baseball, basketball, bowling, cross country, football, golf, soccer, tennis, track & field, volleyball, wrestling, bowling, and competitive dance.

There is a library on campus which is a two-story building offering students a teaching classroom and computer lab, a reference collection, current periodicals and journals, a children鈥檚 and young adult collection, DVD and video viewing rooms, and a bank of research computers.聽

Notable alumni include聽Bradley Zaun, an Iowa State Senator from the 32nd District and the Republican nominee for Iowa's 3rd congressional district in the 2010 general election, B. J. Hill, an American college basketball coach and former head men's basketball coach at University of Northern Colorado, and Slick Watts, a former American basketball player.
