Lake Forest College is a focused four year liberal arts institution based in the small northeastern town of Illinois from which it takes its name. The city of Chicago is about an hour鈥檚 drive south of campus.
There are deliberately small class sizes at Lake Forest, the college intending for each lesson to be taught to under twenty students so as to ensure a faculty receptive to each individual鈥檚 study experience. Through the In The Loop programme students complete up to 300 internship hours, residing in downtown Chicago at Lake Forest鈥檚 sister campus.
As well as pre-professional courses in Health and Law, there are a combined total of fifty-seven minors or majors available at Lake Forest. There are two graduate programmes at Lake Forest, a Master of Liberal Studies, and a Master of Arts in Teaching.
The college also teaches coursework in six languages and occasional courses in Japanese and Portuguese. As part of Lake Forest鈥檚 established cultural connections in Chicago past language students have taken internships at institutions such as the Alliance Fran莽aise and the Chicago Latino Film Festival.
Lake Forest offers over 200 study abroad programmes in over 70 countries. Students will receive Lake Forest academic credit for all approved international exchanges, and direct enrolment arrangements at Budapest, Cork, and the American College of Greece will be accompanied by an on-site faculty co-ordinator.
The $17-million, 65,000-square-foot Lake Forest College Sports & Recreation Centre contains a 1200 seater basketball and volleyball arena and a 300 seater, 25 metre swimming pool with diving block.
Some notable alumni of Lake Forest are long-serving member of Congress, Adolph Sabath, fantasy writer Jacqueline Carey, and celebrated political cartoonist Herbert Block.

Working within a multidisciplinary research team, you will contribute to the delivery of cutting-edge research through a combination of advanced MRI data processing, neuroimaging workflow coordination, and study administration. We are seeking a highly organised and technically capable Research Assistant to support a large MRFF-funded multiple sclerosis imaging study based at the University of Sydney. The role combines advanced neuroimaging data management and MRI pipeline execution with day-to-day study coordination responsibilities. The successful candidate will work with large-scale longitudinal clinical and imaging datasets derived from the MSBase Registry and MSBase Imaging Repository (MSBIR), including extraction and organisation of treatment and MRI timepoint data, coordination of imaging workflows, and execution of MRI preprocessing pipelines to prepare data for downstream lesion analysis. Responsibilities will include image registration, quality control, pipeline management, coordination of data flow across collaborating sites, and assisting with overall study administration and project coordination. The position requires experience working with MRI analysis pipelines and neuroimaging software (e.g. FSL, ANTs, FreeSurfer, MRtrix or similar), strong organisational skills, and the ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary MS neuroimaging research team. The role is expected to involve approximately 80% MRI/data processing work and 20% study coordination activities. Your key responsibilities will be to: Coordinate and support the delivery of a large-scale multiple sclerosis neuroimaging research study, ensuring research activities are completed accurately and within agreed timeframes. Manage and process complex longitudinal clinical and MRI datasets, including data extraction, organisation, quality control, and preparation for downstream analysis. Execute and maintain MRI preprocessing and analysis pipelines, supporting image registration, workflow management, and data integrity across collaborating research sites. Description The Smart Materials Lab (Pan膷e Naumov Group) in the Division of Science and Mathematics, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit an associate research scientist to work on crystal structure determination using electron or X-ray crystallography. Candidates must have substantial experience in crystallography, specifically in the structure solution and refinement of small molecule crystals using either electron or X-ray diffraction techniques. While candidates with experience in structure analysis based on powder diffraction, neutron diffraction, or scattering data will also be considered, preference will be given to those with expertise in electron diffraction. Candidates should be capable of preparing samples, independently collecting data, and solving and refining crystal structures, including those that are theoretically and experimentally challenging, such as structures that exhibit twinning, disorder, or that change or decay over time.
