University of Nottingham Ningbo China is seeking to recruit a Research Fellow in Chemical Engineering (OUTSOURCED) in the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering. Your Responsibility The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to research team in conducting academic research and essential support functions, including literature searches, drafting proposals, translation, conducting surveys, performing analyses and tests, and drafting manuscripts/reports. To take the lead on, plan, develop, and conduct individual and/or collaborative research in the area of material chemistry (e.g., corrosion inhibitor, coatings, batteries, supercapacitors, etc) and regularly disseminate and explain research findings through publication in reputable peer-reviewed journal outlets (on a sustained basis), conferences, and other appropriate media To identify opportunities and assist in writing bids for research grant applications. Prepare proposals and applications to both external and/or internal bodies for funding, contractual, or accreditation purposes. To build active relationships and collaboration with internal and external industries/companies, to jointly initiate/execute research projects, and to advance the research activities of the group. To participate in the supervision of Master's and Doctoral students. To manage and ensure the safety of the working laboratory space and environment. To participate in training and staff development events as trainer or trainee as appropriate. To maintain appropriate professional development, expertise and awareness. To undertake other tasks and responsibilities as may reasonably be required. About You Candidates must have a PhD degree in a relevant engineering discipline, preferable in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Environmental Engineering. Excellent communication and presentation skills in English and Chinese, and high analytical ability to analyse and illuminate data, interpret reports, evaluate and criticise texts, and bring new insights are necessary. Evidence of sufficient breadth or depth of research methodologies and techniques to work in the research area of chemistry and chemical engineering are also essential. Your personal sphere of influence: As university assistant and doctoral student, you work in the Spatial Sustainability and Digitalization Transformation Hub (SSDT Hub) led by Yvonne Franz who is also the director of study program at the department.
