Texas Southern University (TSU) was established in 1927 in Houston, Texas, US.
TSU鈥檚 broad range of over 100 courses are organised into 11 colleges and schools: Jesse H. Jones School of Business, Barbara Jordan-Mickey Leeland School of Public Affairs, College of Education, College of Liberal Arts and Behavioral Sciences, College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, College of Science and Technology, School of Communication, Thurgood Marshall School of Law, Thomas F. Freeman Honors College and The Graduate School offering 24 masters, one Ed. D and four PhD programmes.聽
The institution鈥檚 150-acre campus has an active student life, with over 80 student organisations animating it.聽Students聽can participate in NCAA Division I sports such as baseball, basketball, football, golf, track and field, volleyball, soccer, softball and bowling.聽TSU is known for its diverse student body.
TSU鈥檚 well-known alumni include US Congresswoman Barbara Jordan, US Congressman and anti-poverty activist George 鈥淢ickey鈥 Leland, Michael Strahan - Super Bowl Champion, TV personality and football analyst, Yolanda Adams - Dove-award winning Gospel music singer, Jennifer Holiday - Tony and US Grammy award winning entertainer, African-American member of the Texas House of Representatives Ruth McClendon, Gold Medal winner in Olympics Robert Taylor.
