Established in 1960 in Yogyakarta, Java, Universitas Ahmed Dahlan (UAD) originally operated as the Institute of Teacher Training of Muhammadiyah, one of Indonesia's largest Muslim organisations. In 1994, it adopted the name of Muhammadiyah's founder, Ahmed Dahlan. Universitas Ahmad Dahlan鈥檚 growth has been gradual, with the addition of programmes such as Indonesian language and literature in 1978, followed by English and maths in 1981. The university received licensing for doctoral programmes in 1979. Universitas Ahmad Dahlan's campus expansion followed a similar pattern. Campus no one on Jalan Kapas, known for its serene atmosphere, was acquired in 1974 and remains a hub of activity. A new eight-storey building for economics and psychology is planned to open in 2024. Over time, Universitas Ahmad Dahlan has acquired five more sites, all conveniently located within the city of Yogyakarta. In 2022, Universitas Ahmad Dahlan admitted just over 7,000 students, representing a 50 per cent growth compared to 2020. The student body includes undergraduates, postgraduates, and preparatory students, totalling around 27,000 students. Universitas Ahmad Dahlan offers a wide range of programs across faculties of applied science and technology, teacher training and education, Islamic religion, industrial technology, pharmacy, public health, medicine, psychology, law, economics and business, and literature, culture, and communication. The university also welcomes international students, with 410 international students in 2022, primarily from China and Malaysia. Universitas Ahmad Dahlan offers more than 1,000 online courses and was ranked second among the world's Islamic universities by the World Scholars Forum.

Multiple, 2-year or 3- year full time, fixed term positions, located on the Camperdown Campus at the School of Physics Opportunity to make valuable contributions to research in single junction and tandem solar cells Base Salary Academic Level A $113,400 - $121,054 p.a or Academic Level B $127,436 - $141,774 p.a. + 17% superannuation About the opportunity The School of Physics are seeking to appoint a number of Postdoctoral Researchers in Perovskite Solar Cell Research (Level A or Level B) to work within a research group led by Prof. Anita Ho-Baillie - John Hooke Chair of Nanoscience based at the Sydney Nano Hub and the School of Physics at the University of Sydney. The group has advanced research on perovskite single-junction and tandem solar cells with breakthroughs in cell efficiencies and durability for various practical applications. You will be given the opportunity to work collaboratively with a high performing team with increasing capability and capacity expanding research areas to double junctions and triple junctions tandeming perovskites with perovskites, CIGS, OPV and Si for large area cells or modules. Their true sustainability, cost effectiveness and how they are integrated into circularly economy are also of research interests within the group. Learnings in perovskite photovoltaic is have also been actively applied to other optoelectronics, photonic devices, dosimeters, storages and electronic devices. Within the group, you will be given the opportunity to expand your research skills and experience and to grow in your career as a mentee and a mentor, and to expand your research network when liaising with collaborative research partners. Your key responsibilities will be to: develop advanced modelling, novel material synthesis, processing, fabrication and manufacturing sequence, advanced characterisation and measuring methods for high performance perovskite devices relevant to commercial applications (terrestrial and space) Additional criteria include sustainability considerations and commercial viabilities develop low-cost encapsulation technologies for devices passing industry standards and qualifications develop and refine independent research skills under the supervision of more senior academic staff (with an increasing degree of autonomy) ensures quality, standards and excellence are maintained in any research activities and output provide informal mentoring and guidance to students within discipline (where appropriate) carry out administrative tasks and contribute to faculty/school meetings contribute to a positive workplace culture in which diversity of thought, contribution, collaboration, excellence and achieving outcomes are valued and enabled interacts with students, staff and other members of the University community in a professional, collegial and respectful manner maintains an understanding of the University's strategic agenda contributes to the strategic direction of the Faculty/School/Portfolio as articulated through the Faculty/School/Portfolio's Strategic Plan/s or equivalent undertake other duties and contribute to projects appropriate within the classification level as required. A Research Technician position is available in the Centre for Cancer Immunology at Southampton General Hospital. This is a newly constructed, dedicated research building that is the result of a significant fund-raising campaign. It builds on a 40 year history of pioneering immunology and cancer research at Southampton, and represents the first dedicated cancer immunology centre in the UK. The activities in this centre span from pioneering discovery science to applied research and preclinical modelling and, crucially, onto first-in-human clinical trials and beyond. The centre houses world-class research facilities, including state-of-the-art scientific laboratories and a clinical trials unit. The position is associated with the laboratory of Professors Ward and Ober. Their interdisciplinary research program is dedicated to the development of novel antibody-based therapeutics for the treatment of cancer and autoimmunity. This research has led to several therapeutics that are currently in advanced clinical trials or approved for clinical use. The group also develops advanced microscopy techniques for the evaluation of novel therapeutics in cellular environments. Their research is supported by major grants from the Welcome Trust, Cancer Research UK and support from collaborating biopharma companies. The appointee will be highly motivated and excited by the challenges involved in supporting a dynamic, interdisciplinary group of researchers. The appointee鈥檚 role will be to provide support with the day-to-day running of the laboratory by providing technical support for the experimental work of post-doctoral fellows, research scientists and graduate students, combined with the ordering and maintenance of laboratory instrumentation and supplies. The position holder will be expected to be familiar with biosafety and other regulatory processes and follow these procedures as necessary. It is essential to have a skill level equivalent to achievement of HNC, A-Level, NVQ3 with proven work experience acquired in relevant technical support roles and job-related training. The role requires the ability to plan and organise your workload, work well under pressure and communicate effectively and professionally with other laboratory members. A scientific knowledge in a biological field equivalent to B.Sc. level is extremely desirable. The post-holder will possess relevant academic qualifications and work experience as well as good IT skills. The position is for one year. In addition, NYU Abu Dhabi Community Programs administer the Arab Film Studio Young Filmmakers Workshop and the NYU Abu Dhabi PhD Pathways Program. The聽Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Scholars Program聽offers a select cohort of talented university students access to specially designed courses, lectures, leadership experiences, networking, and graduate school counseling. We admit scholars from among the most outstanding students at the three federal UAE universities: Higher Colleges of Technology, the United Arab Emirates University, and Zayed University. The Scholars Program has been developed in close consultation with His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Her Highness Sheikha Mariam bint Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE federal universities, and New York University Abu Dhabi. This includes assigning tasks to team members, arranging meetings to follow up on progress, and gathering the required data to ensure timely and accurate reporting Provide operational support for SMSP, SA, and YFMW selection processes Foster collaborative opportunities and build connections with other programs and departments within the university, including but not limited to the Academic Enrichment Program (AEP), academic resource centers, and PhD Pathways. Qualifications Required Education, Certifications, Licensing, or Training Bachelor鈥檚 degree in Communication, Education, Public Relations, Psychology or other聽 related educational field Public Speaking Certification: Certifications from programs such as but not limited to Toastmasters International (e.g., Competent Communicator or Distinguished Toastmaster) and Dale Carnegie Leadership Development Certification: Leadership-focused certifications, such as but not limited to those from the John Maxwell Team or the Center for Creative Leadership CCL Certificates of training in communication and leadership from a recognized international university Preferred Education, Certifications, Licensing, or Training Advanced degree (Master鈥檚 or PhD) in Communication, Education, Public Relations, or a related subject. The ability to demonstrate effective public speaking techniques and mentor students in the art of communication and presentation. Ability to teach leadership principles and practices, including team management, decision-making, and strategic thinking in an Academic or Professional manner. Experience in designing and developing course curricula focused on public speaking, leadership, or communication skills. Proficiency in various teaching methodologies, such as interactive workshops, experiential learning, and assessments tailored to enhance students鈥 public speaking and leadership abilities. Demonstrated ability to provide feedback in a constructive manner. Experience supervising high school and/or university students in a co-curricular setting (i.e. school or after-school program). Preferred Work and Related Experience Demonstrated interest in cross-cultural education and enthusiasm for teaching. Familiarity with online and face-to-face instruction.
