The School of Medicine are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated lecturer to be responsible for coordinating and leading key teaching activities in the Bachelor of Medical Studies/Doctor of Medicine Program (BMD), primarily within Year 3. In this program, students participate in multiple teaching activities including attending clinical placements in community and hospital settings, and undertaking Scenario Based Learning (SBL). SBL is a group-based activity that supports application of student knowledge and promotes content integration across the various curriculum domains. These domains are defined by the Australian Medical Council and are science and scholarship, professionalism and leadership, clinical practice and health and society. Work that matters In this Lecturer role, your primary responsibilities will involve Course Coordination and Scenario-Based Learning, alongside other teaching and learning roles. In semester 2, you will co-coordinate the Transition to Clinical Studies course, engaging in direct teaching, providing leadership to a broad range of academic staff, and playing a key role in student assessments. In semester 1, you will lead delivery of SBL in year 3, providing guidance to a team of casual tutors from both clinical and non-clinical backgrounds to deliver SBL sessions on a Monday and Thursday. The role also includes curriculum review and development, in conjunction with colleagues and curriculum leads. In order to meet the needs of this role, you will possess clinical experience which will allow you to integrate concepts from across the curriculum and facilitate small and large group discussion. You will also need to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, as an essential aspect of this role will be to liaise with, and support, casual tutors, academics and clinical titleholders. Description The Center for Sand Hazards and Opportunities in Resilience, Energy, and Sustainability (SHORES), together with the Division of Engineering, Civil and Urban Engineering Program, at NYU Abu Dhabi seeks to recruit a Post-doctoral Associate in the broad area of geotechnical engineering. Research Project: The successful candidate will contribute to a research project focused on the development, testing, and analysis of resilient geotechnical systems. The work will rely on centrifuge modeling, geotechnical laboratory testing, and complementary numerical simulations to improve understanding of soil behavior and geotechnical system performance for infrastructure, energy, and sustainability applications. The Post-Doctoral Associate will be expected to: Perform and interpret geotechnical laboratory tests to support the experimental program. Plan, design, conduct, and analyze centrifuge model experiments. Contribute to the design and development of experimental setups and apparatus, with SolidWorks experience considered an advantage. Publish research findings in high-quality peer-reviewed journals. Work collaboratively with faculty, postdoctoral researchers, students, and other members of a multidisciplinary research team.
