The University of Misan was founded in 2007. It consisted of the College of Basic Education and the College of Education, both of which were part of the University of Basrah. The university is located in Amarah, a city in south-eastern Iraq. The university is organised academically into 13 colleges: college of medicine, college of dentistry, college of pharmacy, college of engineering, college of nursing, college of science, college of agriculture, college of physical education and sports sciences, college of administration and economics, college of law, college of education, college of political science, and the college of basic education. Each college offers a range of both undergraduate and graduate degree programmes. The university has developed partnerships with other higher education institutions across the globe in order to facilitate academic and scientific exchanges. These partnerships include the University of Central Florida and the Michigan State University, both of which are located in the US.

The role provides day-to-day leadership, coordination and agency-level supervision to Student Social Workers, ensuring a safe, engaging and high-quality placement experience that supports professional identity, community development practice and mental health promotion. As the Community Development Team Leader, you will: Guide Student Social Workers through all phases of placement, from orientation and community engagement to implementation, evaluation and project handover. Provide agency-level supervision, placement coordination and wellbeing support, while monitoring student progress, workload and professional practice. Foster collaborative relationships with University staff, Project Sponsors and community stakeholders to support successful placement outcomes. About You You are an experienced community development, social work or human services professional who enjoys mentoring emerging practitioners and supporting meaningful community outcomes.
