Your position: The Institute for Systematic Theology and the Study of Religion is a subunit of the Faculty of Protestant Theology. The position of a University Assistant (Postdoctoral Researcher) is intended to strengthen our teaching and research profile (Chair of Systematic Theology, H.B.). We are seeking Protestant theologians with a strong interest in research questions within Systematic Theology, particularly Dogmatics, Ethics, and Philosophy of Religion. Your future tasks: You will actively contribute to the research, teaching, and administration of the Institute, particularly within the Chair of Systematic Theology (H.B.). Your responsibilities include:   Participation in research projects, teaching activities, and administrative duties assigned to the organizational unit; Contribution to organizational and administrative tasks as well as evaluation processes; Supervision and advising of students; Independent research activities; Independent teaching and examination duties in accordance with the assigned workload. This is part of your personality: Completed doctoral degree (PhD) in Systematic Theology; Strong research interest and experience in the history of theology and philosophy of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries; Outstanding expertise and experience in scholarly editing, particularly in digital editing (XML), archival research, academic annotation/commentary, and print editions; Willingness to contribute to the development of a research focus on religious aesthetics and psychology of religion within the Chair of Systematic Theology (H.B.) through conferences, research networks, and publications; Experience in and willingness to contribute to the acquisition of third-party funding; Independent and well-structured working style, strong organizational skills, and solid IT competence; Excellent command of German and English, both written and spoken; Active work on a habilitation project (postdoctoral qualification) in the field of Systematic Theology. These interdisciplinary programs combine core principles of computer science and artificial intelligence with business and data-driven decision-making and entrepreneurial thinking. They are designed to equip students with the technical skills and commercial acumen necessary to develop, implement, and manage AI-driven business applications and digital systems across diverse settings, including business, government, and nonprofit organisations. Positioned as a hybrid version of a full computer science degree, the programs provide strong foundations in programming, systems analysis, databases, and AI/ML (Machine Language) toolkits, including agentic AI. They emphasise applications to solve real-world business problems in areas such as finance, marketing, operations, and strategy. The role will provide technical support, laboratory instruction, and academic assistance to ensure high-quality, industry-relevant learning experiences.  Key responsibilities of the role are: 1. Teaching and Learning Support Deliver laboratory classes and tutorials in Enterprise AI and related IT subjects. Support students in developing practical skills in AI systems, programming, and infrastructure. Provide academic guidance and feedback on student work in alignment with course learning outcomes. 2. About the Person The successful applicant will have demonstrable expertise in artificial intelligence and its applications in a business environment. They will also meet the following criteria: Have a Masters level qualification (or higher) in a relevant discipline. Be proficient in operating systems, including Linux and Windows (with exposure to macOS desirable). Demonstrate knowledge of AI infrastructure, including deployment of agents, virtual machines, or related environments. Have programming capability in Python, with additional experience in languages such as C, C++, or C# desirable.
